Although this painting might look superficially similar to last, in fact, its effect is the opposite: Each point of the painting achieves a resilient strength which one cannot penetrate or violate. Whereas in the previous painting, the regions are somewhat like a swamp - i.e., the regions are constantly shifting - in the painting below none of the regions shift. There is also a return to the contradiction I was aiming for: the creation of hard surface by writing. Here the edge is thoroughly integrated with the writing.
